As the skills shortage in Northern Ireland continues to cause concern in the local labour market it is interesting to note that even specialist recruitment businesses have to go to unusual lengths to attract the best candidates.
In response to this local competition for staff, Abacus Professional Recruitment, (Abacus), is holding a 'Careers in Recruitment' Open Evening on Thursday, 8th March 2007 at the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast between 4 and 8pm.
Commenting on the rationale for the event, Justin Rush, Director at Abacus stated, 'The recruitment industry offers a challenging and diverse career to motivated people who want to be rewarded for putting in hard work. Unfortunately, many people have little knowledge of the role, the industry or its rewards; on the evening of March 8 th, Abacus staff will provide all this information first hand'.
On the night, attendees can view a brief presentation by Mr Rush, who also acts as a representative of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, (REC), in Northern Ireland. He will give an overview of Abacus Professional Recruitment and its vision, working in recruitment, rewards available, and the qualities needed in order to apply.
Abacus Professional Recruitment has ambitious plans for 2007 and is building on the satisfaction of gaining awards and accreditations in 2006. Alan Braithwaite, Director at Abacus and responsible for the company's strategy, commented, 'The success of Abacus Professional Recruitment is solely due to the efforts made by our dedicated staff. This year we will compliment our existing specialist teams with key appointments in order to ensure we achieve our corporate goals and continue to enhance our leadership status on the local market'.
Attendance at the event is sure to be high, given the interest candidates have already shown. Entry is of course free on the night and refreshments will be provided; please note that all interested parties must contact Abacus directly in order to confirm a place.
